We could create an extraordinary app for organizing, mutual aid, volunteering, activism, overthrowing warpigs, and all of the other ways to do peaceful revolution. Not just for people, peace, progress, democracy, equality and justice, but also for animals and earth. Here's my dream: www.humbledeeds.com
What: no buy store (accepting donations of clothes, tools, toys, houseware, etc), skill sharing events (healthy living, cooking, etc), educational support (psychology, health, navigating healthcare system), and fund raising
Where: Bonne Terre, Missouri (and surrounding rural towns like Park Hills, Desloge, Farmington, etc)
I would love to hear from anyone who has ideas about how to include children in mutual aid efforts. Children are almost exclusively taught about charity. I want to make sure I am teaching my young children that we all owe each other something in community.
Not my mutual aid, but based in Kansas City, MO is KC Food Not Bombs: https://fnbkc.org serving free hot vegan meals every Sunday.
I lead a cycling group, Women-Led Cycling, that works to break down barriers into cycling for marginalized folks. This is our third year and while bikes are the uniting factor for our community, it extends well beyond that. We want to model what we are doing off of mutual aid, so I guess it’s just that. We partner with other groups doing important work in our community — farmers markets and women’s shelters, more to come. We have a fast-growing Discord where people can share gear and ask advice. We are also going to be adding a channel specifically for childcare-sharing.
Hey, I’m also a private chef and personal family assistant. We could meld brains on possible joint ventures in the arena of mutual aid and cooking classes for communities and/or co-cooking meals to supply for a variety of free fridges in various neighborhoods. Im on IG @bestgirlfridaynyc
Currently in the process of starting a mutual aid nonprofit org. This article helped me so much! Anything you can share on mutual aid and community building is a gift 🤍
I volunteer with Montclair Mutual Aid in North Jersey. We have a variety of initiatives- direct giving, food/clothing shares, community building projects, etc. Visit montclairmutualaid.org and fill put the contact form if you're local and would like to join us or help in some way. I'm the person who responds to those!
What: basically every necessity, and they redistribute it for free to the community. If you can't drive, you can send a designee to pick up whatever you need https://www.delawarepeopleinneed.org/
Our community is creating its own internal network of support for those in our immediate circles.
So many things we can shift in our daily routines to include care for others, from grocery pick up to laundry, a ride across town, a phone call to check in, accompaniment to an appointment, speak up as an advocate when asked, fix things, make extra food…
Thank you for creating this living list of networks!
We can do so much better for each other, with each other!!!
Also with bird flu just jonesing to go big in people right at the time the NIH, CDC etc are getting eviscerated and not able to communicate with the public; programs that help keep track of contagious illness in real time across the country are more important than ever.
Please consider joining Outbreaks Near Me! It's super simple to join and it's not asking for a ton of personal information. You just log in and tell them when you're sick and what you're sick with and they compile the information to make maps tracking outbreaks anyone can use. You can log in to tell them you're feeling fine as well. More information is more information after all.
I work with BLM NH - we have a mutual aid fund! blmnh.org

Hi! I'm located in Eugene, OR and would like to offer my home as a safe space, a place to rest, meals, co-regulation strategies (virtually and in-person). I am a former educator and current PhD student and would love to co-create space (again in person or virtually) for learning about trauma and healing. Folks can follow or DM me on IG @educate2heal or at audra.casanova@gmail.com
Thank you so much for all the thought starters and considerations! I’m working on setting up a mutual aid network here in Lake County FL (central FL area) and this has helped me solidify some things in my mind. I don’t have forms of verification yet, but will soon! Working on this today 🙌🏼
My parents (a couple of progressive hippies) are in Lake Placid! As your ideas materialize, let me know if I can make a (virtual) introduction. They’re retired and pretty crafty.
I teach free mending workshops in Pittsburgh (in Minneapolis this summer). I offer supplies and help people repair their clothing and learn new skills. Workshops are twice a month at public libraries and breweries. Id love to find people interested in this when I move to Minneapolis!
Love this Kat. I’m in NW suburbs of Minneapolis. Don’t have much mending skills but can offer help getting the word out or collecting supply donations. Would love to connect when you move here.
I will start off the resource section!

Great question! Getting kids involved in mutual aid is so important. A few ideas:
- Have them help cook extra portions of meals to share with community
- Bring them along to community events and explain the 'why' behind them
- Frame contributing to community as something we do because everyone needs help sometimes.
I think more people will jump in here, but I thought I'd initiate an answer.

We are also on Instagram, for now: @womenledcycling
I also saw that KC Mutual Aid has a community fridge at Goofball Skateboards. Both great groups also ❤️
My 10 year old helps me cook with Food Not Bombs
That’s awesome. I’ve been encouraging my husband and 16yo stepson to get involved.
I am a private chef who lives in Brooklyn and I am moving March 1st to Milburn NJ. I would like to cook meals for anyone in need.
